How my natural behavior dictated where I’d grieve.

The day after I lost my mom, I left the country…

I’m sure some people may wonder why in the world I left the country after my mom died. I felt some sort of way myself as well but realized I had to do it.

My mom was a travel queen when I was growing up. She taught me the importance of getting away to reflect and recharge.

I was seriously a wreck after losing her; I thought I was strong enough to deal with that but I wasn’t.

Because I know my natural behavior is extremely reserved, I knew I was going to shut people out so I went where they couldn’t reach me (in person).

The clear blue skies, green water and two private balconies in my room were exactly what I needed in order to come back here and deal with everything else.

I’m so happy my mother was never afraid to “do her” and enjoy life and creation.

I’ll forever remember her for that and her deep love for our Heavenly Father and God, Jehovah.
